I’ve paid thousands of dollars to people just like you for referrals in the past, and it literally only takes them minutes to earn it. I’d like for my next payout to go to you. All you have to do is refer music production or composition work me according to the rules below (and on my website).

You see, music producers and film composers in Hollywood have managers or agents. In the case of a film composer’s agent, the agent gets 15% of the composer’s “creative fee” for finding a new client for the composer, closing the deal, and negotiating every detail of the contract.

About ten years ago, as a marketing experiment, I decided to pay industry professionals who refer new clients to me a similar amount for less work (no negotiating or paperwork), and it was a great success, both for them and for me. I asked my highest-grossing referrer for that year how long he took doing the actual referral. I expected him to tell me that he had mentioned me repeatedly, and talked me way up for 20-30 minutes.

He said it took him less than 30 seconds!

I was blown away. All that he did was tell the prospective client that he trusted me, and gave them the URL to my demo site. I then closed the sale when they called and then met with me.

I netted $25,000 on that project (an album project), so my referrer made 15%, or $3,750… for 30 seconds of work!

Calculate the hourly wage, and my referrer made $450,000 per hour, if you do the math on what he was paid for a half-minute of work. Ridiculous but true!
